We lead the tour from the imperial cities of Morocco and Chefchaouen crossing the mountains of the Atlas towards the wild Sahara desert. In the last days, we stop to discover the most tourists city in Morocco, Marrakech city with its most fabulous sights. The tour also gives an opportunity to have some moments in the Atlantic ocean with a full day tour to Essaouira city.
On the first day you will meet Camel Tours Morocco driver/Guide in the international airport Mohamed 5 of Casablanca. Then, start our 12 days tour in Morocco, we will transfer you to visit Hassan II Mosque. Afterward, we drive to you hotel. Overnight stay in at a hotel in Casablanca.
After breakfast, we will start our day 2 by visiting Hassan 2 mosque, If we didn’t on the first day. Afterthat, we will drive about 50 min to reach Rabat “capital of Morocco”, where we visit the main historical sites including the visit of Ouadaya Gardens in this famous Kasbah in Rabat. We explore also Mausoleum and nearby Hassan Tower which is the 12th century still- standing monument. After lunch, we continue to Chefchouen via Oauzane and the appealing road of riff villages to explore its traditions and rituals. After that, we will reach the bleu city. Free eveining and overnight stay in a riad in the medina.
In the morning at 9 am you will drive to Fes. Before you get Fes you will visit the historical site of Volubilis “Roman ruins”. After you have a tour with the local guide you will head to Meknes we will have a sightseeing day trip. First, you will start with the beautiful gate of Bad Mansour, the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum,sahrij,the Jewish quarter. Lunch in a local restaurant inside the old medina of Fes. After lunch you will drive to Fes. Overnight in a riad in the medina.
Enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of Fes, which is the oldest of Morocco’s four “Imperial Cities”. The University of Al Kairaouine was founded in Fes by Fatima al Fihri in 859, is considered by some to be the oldest degree-granting university in the world.
The medieval city of Fes El Bali or “Old Fes” remains complete and is unspoiled. During your tour of this part of the town, you can visit the exotic Bou Inania Medersa, the Medina and the Kairaouine Mosque, where you may take photos of the wonderful courtyard from the main gate as well as the famous souks.
In the afternoon, you can visit Fes El Jdid, or “New Fes” and the Museum of Moroccan Arts. Overnight stay in a Riad in the Fes medina.
Today, we will go on a Sahara desert trip depart from Fes to Merzouga. After breakfast, departure to Midelt across the mountains and cedar forests and Middle Atlas. We will pass through Ifrane, know as the pearl of atlas, a station of great charm and Azrou, an important center of crafts, specializing in the work of cedar wood. the famous cedar forest of the High atlas, where live various types of monkeys, stop at Midelt for lunch. In the afternoon, the destination Erfoud and Errachidia, We pass through the Ziz Valley and its palm groves. We will continue the tour to the dunes of Erg Chebbi Merzouga. Overnight stay in a Riad near Merzouga dunes.
After breakfast, we’ll start exploring Merzouga area, by visiting the village of dark skin people originally from Mali to enjoy their music and the way they live. After that we will drive to Mifis Mines to explore how they work over there before getting behind the Dunes in a full desert with charming views where we will sit for a warm cup of tea with the local Bedouins, before returning back to the hotel. After that, you will start a camel ride experience to see or live the spectacular sunset, in the Dunes, we spent the night in a Sahara desert camp, 2 hours of walking in the desert. Dinner and accommodation in the camp (Berber tent) in the middle of the desert, one of the most beautiful places where you can see sunrise and sunset and a starry sky.
We’ll fetch an early start to catch the sunrise over the dunes before arriving at a local hotel to freshen up. After breakfast, we’ll head through Rissani and Tinghir to Todra gorge; the highest and narrowest gorge in Morocco. After lunch at the gorge, we’ll drive through the Dades valley enjoying the view of the geological feature known locally as “Monkey Toes”. We’ll stay overnight in Dades valley.
After breakfast in Dades valley we travel further through the Dades gorge to Ouarzazate. The road through the Dades Valley is called ‘the way of the thousand kasbahs’. It is a beautiful route with plenty of opportunities to take beautiful pictures. Today you will also have the opportunity to meet Berber nomads in their caves. We stop at Kalaat M’gouna, the rose city. Here you can buy rose water and rose oil. We continue to Skoura and visit the well-preserved Kasbah Ameridil. There is an opportunity for lunch in a restaurant with a view of the whole valley. After lunch we arrive in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa”. Here is the studio with props used in well-known films, such as The Mummy, Gladiator and the Last Temptation of Christ. Overnight stay in a Riad in Ouarzazate.
Today, we will enjoy a visit of cinema sets & studios located in Ouarzazate which is known as Hollywood of Africa. Afterwards we will visit the universal Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah as it has been named by UNESCO in 1987. Ait Benhaddou is the World Heritage site that has been used as a backdrop for more than 20 films including “Gladiator” “Indiana Jones” and “Lawrence of Arabia”. Enjoy a walk to explore the traditional Moroccan style of architecture in which the Kasbahs are built. We continue our way to Marrakesh through the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka pass. Break for lunch in the middle of the High Atlas Mountains. Overnight stay in a Riad Marrakech.
On our day n 10 we’ll have a guided tour of Marrakesh. You will explore the main attractions and monuments of the city including the famous Jamma el Fna square, Koutoubia mosque, the souks, palaces, and museums. We’ll also explore parts of the city such as Gueliz, The Menara Gardens, and Majorelle.
This morning after breakfast, we will leave Marrakech “the red city” toward Essaouira, the old Portuguese city. You may visit an Argan factory run by women and get to know about the process of making Argan oil. You will explore the port of the Coastal tourist town of Essaouira. Enjoy a fresh seafood lunch in the medina. The afternoon is at your leisure for a personal exploration; you can swim and relax on the beach. Overnight stay in Essaouira.
On our last day tour, after breakfast in Essaouira, You can relax during the early part of the afternoon before departing to Marrakech or Casablanca, arriving around 6 pm. Your 12 Days Morocco tour itinerary ends.
